:: Roan Mountain

After we drove the U-haul and all of our belongings to East Tennessee, we spent a few days with my parents and the rest of the week on vacation with Andy’s family while we had carpet installed and a little bit of painting done on the new house.

Andy grew up going to ROAN MOUNTAIN on family vacations, and while I’ve done a lot of hiking and backpacking in the area, I’ve never had the chance to stay at the cabins. And after spending a few days there, I would definitely go back. Sign me up for a cabin in the woods any day.

While there, we did some hiking, went to the original MAST GENERAL STORE in Valle Crucis (always a fun little stop if you’re ever nearby), ate a delicious meal at SORRENTO’S in Banner Elk, played a few games of Catan, and drank hot chocolate in rocking chairs on the porch.

Some happy littles from our mountain vacation…
